Thank you, Rachel and Tim, for your great insight – I’m doing Confirmation tomorrow evening on the Amos passage – and have been ignoring what I should be doing to prepare for it. So, you have blessed me with some great ideas – I’ll use God’s “tone of voice” as a “hard word from a good friend” and use the contrast of reading the passage twice – the first time angry and the second with compassion.
