Rachel (PhD, Emory University) is Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Capital University. She is also an ordained Lutheran pastor in the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). Her academic interests include the Psalms, biblical emotions, preaching, ethnography and embodiment. The first part of her ministry was spent serving small town and rural churches in Minnesota. She misses the prairie sunrises. Her husband, Tim Wrenn, [not cohost Tim] is a Lutheran pastor in Dublin, OH, where they live with their two children and two cats. Rachel enjoys cooking, reading, walking, speaking French, and that holy moment in worship when the acolyte lights the candles. Paul Essah

Paul is a PhD Student at Yale University. His work brings the Hebrew Bible, the Ancient Near East and African History and literature together in an interdisciplinary fashion to create new ways of thinking about the Hebrew Bible and its place in contemporary societies. Before setting out on his journey in the academy, he was a campus minister for GHAFES for five years in Ghana and has continued to serve youth ministries and churches in America since he relocated in 2017. When he is not preparing for a class or drafting the next sermon, Paul plays soccer with the unbeatable Yale Divinity School soccer team, the Paracleats. He lives in New Haven CT with his wife Patricia who is finalizing processes to begin a career in health care in CT.
