  1. Thank you for your insights. I’m thinking of taking Isaiah and Luke together as a message of hope that God raises up leaders out of the most unqualified people: It is not about our worthiness or readiness for the call, but rather God’s power to shape us and use us. In the current environment, I think we need God to raise up a leader from among us to counteract the dominate message of hate and division. This is a message of hope and a call to action. Thanks for helping me find that vision.

    I’m also wondering if there is a way to interpret what is going on in our government / republic currently through the lens of the 2nd (optional) half of the Isaiah reading?
